The Women's State Legislative Council of Utah was organized in 1920 after the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which gave every woman the right to vote. Its purpose then, as now, is to investigate and study state and national issues with a goal of bringing about legislation beneficial to the State of Utah.

Parking at the State Legislature

Parking is again available in the Capitol Visitor's Parking lot located on the east end of the Capitol and State Office Building. This is where many of us parked before construction. Parking is also allowed around the perimeter of the Captiol along the streets.

There are two other alternatives. You can park in the lot across 300 West from the Triad Center and then take bus no. 500. There is a stop on the south side of North Temple near the parking lot. If you tell the parking lot attendant you are going to the WSLC meeting at the capitol, they will let you park free. Then take the no. 500 bus to the capitol.

The second alternative is to take trax to the Energy Solutions Center and catch the no. 500 bus at the same place, or you can take trax to the Courthouse station and catch the no. 500 on the east side of main street.
